Thank you, Pat and Diana Swanick

Pat and Diana SwanickPat Swanick and his wife, Diana, have a special place in their hearts for adoption. Both originally from Pennsylvania, the couple has also lived in Ohio, Texas and Oregon over the years.

Pat was adopted two months after he was born. His biological mother was not married when she became pregnant, and she was not sure she would marry Pat's biological father. Since she was unable to properly provide for Pat, she made sure he was placed for adoption with a reputable orphanage where she had trained as a nurse.

Fortunately, Pat was matched with a couple who was unable to have children of their own and wanted a family. After adopting Pat, they also adopted Tony, who came from different biological family and was living in another orphanage.

“Tony and I were blessed with the best parents any child could ever have,” reflects Pat. “I am grateful for the courageous and difficult decision that my biological mother made to be sure that I could grow up in a stable, secure home.”

“Based on Pat and Tony’s positive experiences as adoptees, we wanted to support an organization committed to finding permanent homes for children in foster care who don't currently enjoy the benefit of a loving family,” says Diana. “We are pleased to include the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption in our estate plans.”
